Lindsey

Jennifer is a registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC-II), earning her Bachelor’s in Psychology from San Diego State University in 2005 and Master’s in Psychology from California Southern University in 2015. Jennifer combines insight-oriented psychotherapy and skills based psychotherapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), with holistic approaches to facilitate healing of the body, mind, and spirit. She is certified in EAGALA’s (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning) model of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, and currently enrolled in University of Denver’s Equine Facilitated Mental Health Certificate program.

In addition, to Restore, Jennifer works at a psychiatric hospital in San Diego, providing mental health and substance use treatment to children, adolescents, and adults, within a partial hospital or intensive outpatient setting. Prior to this position, Jennifer worked at UC San Diego’s Co-Occurring Disorders Program for 6 years, providing integrated treatment and wrap around services to adults diagnosed with co-occurring psychological and substance use disorders. Jennifer’s substance abuse treatment experience includes training in medication-assisted opiate treatment, utilizing abstinence based and harm reduction strategies, and self-help based recovery approaches.

Jennifer is passionate about helping people heal from trauma and addiction, improve health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to reach their fullest potential.
