Therapy in the Recovery Process
Therapists who specialize in drug and alcohol recovery can often help those who have a dependency to set achievable and empowering short-term goals as they work to overcome their drug and alcohol dependence. Once sobriety is achieved and the resident is stable, adaptive skills can be introduced as the person works to regain physical and emotional health, and the therapist can begin to explore the source or cause of the addiction with the person in treatment as the person begins to employ these new coping strategies. Together, the therapist and the resident can work to set long-term goals that may include rebuilding damaged relationships, accepting responsibility for actions, and releasing guilt.
Among our staff, we have licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Physiologists and Drug and Alcohol Certified Counselors.
